In December 2022, LDC Hotels & Resorts launched Taiwan's first "carbon negative guestroom program” acquiring carbon credits through the global carbon trading platform CIX (Climate Impact X) in Singapore. With an additional cost, guests at Fleur de Chine and Palais de Chine hotels can help offset the carbon emissions generated during their stay. LDC Hotels & Resorts responds by purchasing an equal amount of carbon credits to make the guest’s stay carbon negative. With this program, we invite travelers on a journey of sustainability.

Also, as part of its 15th anniversary celebration, Fleur de Chine Hotel collaborates with Taiwan Cement to launch a tree-planting event. Guests participating in the Carbon Negative Guestroom Program can contribute another NT$250 to plant one tree on a hill at an altitude of 950 meters in Heping Township, Hualien. Guests are invited to write a wish or a blessing for Earth’s well-being, which is then laser-engraved on a cement plaque and hung on a tree.
